About Me

William Ng is a seasoned legal professional with over two decades of experience spanning private practice, multinational corporations, and cross-border legal operations.

William brings a rare combination of legal expertise and commercial acumen, having served in senior in-house roles at leading multinational corporations, including as Legal Director (P9 level) at Alibaba Group. He has extensive experience in corporate governance, cross-border structuring, regulatory compliance, tax restructuring and complex international transactions. His work covers multiple jurisdictions, supported by his firsthand exposure to global markets across Europe, the Americas, and Asia.

William’s commercial insight and cross-border experience are recognised by the Hong Kong Department of Justice, where he serves in an advisory capacity on Greater Bay Area–related initiatives. In January 2026, William was appointed by the Department of Justice of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government as a member of the Professional Services Going Global Expert Committee. He also serves as a member of the Internal Audit and Risk Control Committee of the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of Henan Province, one of only three external expert advisers among the committee's nine members. In recognition of his professional expertise, William has further been appointed as a member of the Legal Advisory Panel of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Task Force and as a Hong Kong and Macao Special Mediator of the High People's Court of Guangdong Province, an appointment made by the Guangdong Provincial Department of Justice.

Widely recognised for his cross-border expertise, William is regularly invited by government bodies, professional organisations and industry groups to participate in high-level forums and legal exchange events, where he speaks on legal and regulatory developments affecting Mainland China and Hong Kong.
